Meet Eric G. Meeks
Eric’s Biography
Throughout my entire writing life, I’ve depended on my ability to sell books online, at Villagefest, in my former store and as a distributor, to produce the funds necessary to publish. I’m still a book seller at heart. There have been several occasions when I needed $1000-$2000 to handle a large order or the publication of a new book, cover art creation or something else and I’ve had to sell off a portion of my personal library to generate the necessary funds. If I needed to do so again, I have somewhere around 1,500 books in my personal library, many of them rare and/or autographed to commit to the online auction block.
I’m currently working on expanding digital download sales beyond Kindle and Nook, both of which are established sales channels. The world of Apple’s ibooks, Kobo, and other eReaders are too significant to overlook. Smashwords appears the obvious choice for production simplicity and maximizing style, quality and consistency. In the very near future, all of my past books will be available on every eReading device in the Etherverse. Future stories will be available across all platforms immediately upon publication.
On a personal note, I enjoy dancing in the evening with Tracey and our kids. I have a collection of vinyl records which we play nightly; enjoying the music as the adults relax and the kids clean off the table and do the dishes. Sounds of Elvis Costello, the Police, Cindy Lauper, Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney fill our home after sunset.
And that brings us to now. I’m returning to writing fiction as soon as this website is finished. Probably in May. I’ll revisit a book I put aside some five years ago to instead publish the PS I Love Lucy book. The working title of that book is The Masonic Civil War Conspiracy. It’s an Action/Adventure/Romance/Historical Fiction novel that pits the Masonic forces of the northern free states against the southern Masons as they attempt to uncover the biblical secrets of the Amoela’s Diary, wife to the youngest son of Noah, who detailed the history of the world prior to the flood and disclosed why Blacks were slaves and Jews were to be distrusted. Both sides of the American Civil War want the ancient book to justify why their causes are just and they are willing to deceive, kill or die in order to get it.
Ask me how it’s going on this book if we ever get a chance to meet. Check my Upcoming Events page for places where I’ll be.
I’ve got other books in the future too: more stand alone novels like the adventure of a group of Papal nights against Earth-bound demons, and then there’s the prospect of turning The Author Murders into a series and turning The Witch of Tahquitz into a teen series, along with another teen book co-written with one of my daughters.
So much to write.
Sincerely,
Eric G. Meeks
